- Indie-Rose Newborn Photo Shoot | Bunbury Southwest Newborn Photographer April 29, 2016
Day 11 – Indie-Rose Newborn Photo Shoot.
Well Mum and Dad’s maternity session was special, so the anticipation to create a similar experience for Indie-Rose’s newborn photo session was on.
Arriving at the studio Indie (as Mum and Dad like to refer to her) was so teeny tiny with these amazing cheeks and little lips.
The flower nest was first up and once all snuggly in position, and in her little outfit, Indie let me know how she really felt about the pose as it was so comfortable that she showed her appreciation by filling up her pants (if you know what I mean). But I was more than happy as we got the shot and it was now pants off!
The rest of the session was keeping with beautiful pinks and some warmth of timber. My favourite shots from the session are the parents shots though. These are a priority in my newborn sessions as the connection, the size of each baby and the love between the family members is a keepsake forever, and to be recorded!!
Keep breeding guys because you can make super cute babies!
- Caitlin and Ben | Maternity Beach Session April 28, 2016
Well after getting to know Caitlin over some time, while she attempts to keep me young by scrubbing away at my face or buffing my nails in The Envy Beaty Specialist salon; I was excited to be able to capture her first pregnancy with partner Ben at 34 weeks pregnant.
Each maternity session I always ensure it is personalised and of course K9 family members are always welcome. Love the full family shots which came out of this session. The dogs were amazing, how could we leave them out?
Both Caitlin and Ben love the beach and reside in Yallingup we opted for a little bay in Dunsborough to capture this special time.
As the sun set and we started the session with some pictures of Caitlin and her Sister, Leah. Holding a special bond together (which I do also with my own Sister) it was only natural to want to share this moment with each other.
Caitlin looked amazing and of course we planned a few outfit changes to really have fun with the session and offer an assortment of images for them to choose from. As a baby girl was being expected of course the pink tutu also had to make an appearance.
When looking back on these images all I can think of is the love and how much fun we had that evening. It was so great to also be able to capture their baby girl, Indi-Rose, who will be appearing on the next blog post.

Laura and Odin contacted me to photograph their little family while the sun was still shining in the South West. It came to light that I had actually captured Odin’s Sister and Brother-in-law when they welcomed their baby girl 12 months ago.
As my usual style, when working with younger children, I set up a few little fun stations for the boys to enjoy including my trusty tepee and little kids bench.
Jackson (3) was happy to talk about his girlfriend and also to correct me when showing him my pig rattle and making a frog sound – the silly things I do to get a smile. Mr Jordin (1) with his intense blue eyes was a little warmer towards the camera but I still felt he was not impressed with my jokes as much as his big brother was.
As the sun set we continued around the field having a lovely chat, discovering little activities to do and promising a reward of brightly colour balloons to Jackson.
It was a fun little session and the sunset really turned it on for us that night.
Seeing these images just makes me want to get organised and organise my own little family session in this beautiful light.
- Yates Wedding | Southwest Wedding Photographer March 15, 2016
What an amazing day we had to come together and celebrate the Wedding of Stephen and Teiarnnah and their little family in Dunsborough on 20th February 2016.
I had been anticipating this Wedding for quite a while.
The Sapit/Yates family are one of my very best clients and I was so excited to capture their down south wedding in February.
I first met Teiarnnah and Stephen when they were pregnant with baby number two, Zander. We had a magical, sunset maternity session and then an awesome newborn session in the studio soon followed with big Sister Amayah.
Their extended family have also visited me to capture their magical relationships ranging from grandparents to cousins and in between. So to be asked to photograph their big day was yet another honour to have.
Teiarnnah and Stephen had all the details covered for their big day and it was my job to capture the love and time they had invested.
Their ceremony and reception was held at Wyndham Resort, Dunsborough, so we planned to venture out around this amazing area for their Wedding photos.
During the ceremony both their children Amayah and Zander had little roles to play. Zander was the ring bearer and Amayah would throw the rose petals when walking down the aisle. Well instead Zander was not so keen to deliver anything and gave it to one of the bridesmaids to do and Amayah preferred to keep the petals for herself as she was a little awe-struck when walking towards Daddy.
Following the intimate and tear filled ceremony we left to capture the couple at two beautiful spots which summed up the area. The first was a bay near Meelup Beach and the second being the amazing Sugar Loaf Rock.
The Wedding party were great fun and the shoes were soon kicked off to venture to the first location on a beautiful white sandy beach.
It was such a beautiful day and the fun just rolled on into the reception as the photos will prove.
Congrats to Mr and Mrs Yates.

I have, in the past, photographed Dyana while pregnant with Ryker (Dyana at 33 weeks) and with her gorgeous horse, Stormy. So it was great to meet Ryker (that was her bump in her belly) and be on hand for their family photo shoot.
Miller, Logan and Ryker were a riot. Family photo sessions can sometimes be chaotic with young children but I love the chaos and I think you get to capture their true personalities during all the craziness.
When photographing children I set up little stations around the location to ensure they are entertained and curious about what’s next. I aways attempt a posey shot but seem to love the ones taken in between more so.
If I could encourage my clients to do just one thing, that would be to have a family photo every two years or even every year if you can. The changes that you see are amazing. That reminds me, I need to do this myself!
Photographing my two girls over the last 6 years has given me a little screenshot of evolution. Even their gorgeous, gappy smiles that we see when loosing their baby teeth. Parents may think that would be the time NOT to have photos, but to me it is amazing to see them grow. One minute baby teeth and chubby cheeks, the next a beautiful little girl requesting a pose (which is my least favourite thing about photographing my own children).
So when photographing these kids it was all a blur but I knew there were some gorgeous, natural photos captured.
Thank you to Dyana and Asher for allowing me to capture your family once again.
