- Louis on day 8 | Bunbury Newborn Photographer February 11, 2016
Baby boy, Louis, visited Maternal Moments Photography’s East Bunbury studio on his 8th day in this world. His baby features, which I could not wait to capture, were his amazing lips and cheeks. I was ready to wip out the Nikon in the first 5 minutes.
As he slept soundly I went through with Mum and Dad the set ups planned and also asked them to choose some colour options for his blanket shots.
I was a little excited that Mum and Dad chose the grey blanket. The blanket was perfect for Louis and his gorgeous completion and also some of the set ups planned for Dad. These including using his Shoei motorbike helmet and a specially purchased Tonka truck (Dad’s a heavy machinery mechanic and loves his dirt bike). So this tough boy looking blanket suited his whole session.
He slept amazing through the full session and we were done and dusted in 2 hours. Mum and Dad are suiting parenthood really well and the whole session was so relaxed.
Enjoy guys and congratulations.
- Courtney’s maternity session at 34 weeks | Bunbury Pregnancy Photography February 10, 2016
Courtney and Shane decided on a country theme to capture their first pregnancy in the Southwest. One of the advantages of being pregnant during Summer are these amazing warm evenings and the beautiful golden hour.
Courtney had done her research and purchased her very own maternity gown from my favourite supplier, Sew Trendy Accessories in the US.
We had a great time capturing her gorgeous baby bump and even put Shane to work creating the beautiful flowing gown shot.
It was so much fun getting to know both Courtney and Shane in preparation to capture their bub in January.
Get ready for a gorgeous newborn photo session from this couple’s amazing baby … shhhhhh I’m not going to let out the secret surprise.
- Leo’s Newborn Photo Session day 11 | Bunbury Southwest Newborn Photographer February 2, 2016
Baby Leo and his family visited my East Bunbury studio for his newborn photo shoot on day 11 in early January.
Leo’s Mum and Dad were part of the Yarloop community who were now dealing with the loss of their town and loosing a place to live. Luckily their home was one of the lucky ones that survived the fire, but it was now uninhabitable due to no electricity or facilities.
So while Mum was laying in hospital, Leo only days old, Dad had returned to Yarloop to help his family fight the fires as they advanced towards their dairy farm and inevitably their town.
The town’s church where Leo’s parents were married, and two generations before them were also married, is now no more. As we were all shown via the news, the town was devastated. But Leo’s family still had this little man to celebrate.
Leo’s parents had already planned to capture him surrounded by their working boots and Dad’s well loved, and well worn, hat. Leo’s parents even purchased a pair of RM Williams for him (RMWilliams.com.au) that we incorporated into the shot.
While I am thankful to all my parents who visit me in the early days of welcoming a newborn (because I would never be out of my pjs until 11am at the earliest in my day) I was so thankful that through this terrible experience, where life was still a little crazy, Leo’s parents made it in.
One advantage for us in the studio, if they thought of a new idea or special piece to use in a photo it was all in easy reaching distance of their car, where all their possessions had been stored through the fire.
Congratulations to Mum and Dad and welcome to the world Leo.
The start of 2016 will be well remembered for your family by your arrival and those fires.
- Josh & Taliah Bryce | Beach Wedding | Bunbury Southwest Wedding Photographer November 10, 2015
I first met Josh and Taliah when they were expecting their first baby and I was lucky enough to capture both their pregnancy and their first born, Lacey Rae.
To then be asked to capture their Wedding day was truly an honour.
The plan for the day was a relaxed beach wedding ceremony with a few stops for photos and then for the couple to have a quiet drink to reflect on the day and to prepare for the party phase of their Wedding. To take a moment to themselves they chose to visit the place where their story started, Barbados Lounge Bar, Bunbury.
It was a beautiful, sunny day and the ceremony was emotional and sweet. The couple were so relaxed and the destinations for the formal photos ensured that Taliah and Josh got the best of the day from the ocean to the greenery of trees.
Congratulations guys on a beautiful day and wishing you love and happiness as you venture forward as the Bryce Family.

- Mahlee on day 11| Bunbury Southwest Newborn Photographer September 22, 2015
Beautiful little Mahlee Hope was born on the 21st August. She has the most beautiful delicate lips that made her look like a doll.
I think my favourite image of her is definitely with her big Brother Jett and his footy.
Congrats to Mum and Dad on your beautiful family.
